Our dear friend, Debbie George, was an employee of Red River Regional Hospital.  She was a wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend to many.  Debbie loved life and lived it to the fullest.  She would do anything to help anyone in need, regardless of whether she knew you or not.  Debbie was a true friend.

Debbie had some health issues but was too busy living life and taking care of others that she neglected to take care of herself.  On June 28, 2008, at the age of 45, Debbie passed away in her sleep.  She had diabetes, hypertension and sleep apnea.  The sleep apnea, coupled with the hypertension, caused Sudden Cardiac Death Syndrome (SCDS).  This syndrome is a silent killer and never gives any early warning signs.

As her friends and co-workers, we realized that just as an organ donor helps others live after their own death, Debbie could also be a source of life to others.  Our goal for this important program is to promote a healthier lifestyle through baseline health studies, physical exams, fitness and nutrition education, prevention of illness, and to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Fannin County and the surrounding communities!
